FAQ
Questions, answered.
Privacy, pricing, Limited Access, and what Kept Close will never do.
Is Kept Close actually private? Where does my data go?
It stays on your iPhone. There's no account, no cloud, and no server. Kept Close has nowhere to send your contacts. Your tags, notes, and connections never leave the device. The one exception is the optional map, which asks Apple to place addresses on a map. It sends addresses only, never names.
Will Kept Close change or delete my contacts without asking?
Never silently. Every merge or delete is something you confirm, and Kept Close always shows the exact number affected first. Anything you remove goes to a 30-day recycle bin you can restore from with one tap.
What's free, and what's Kept Close Pro?
All the cleanup is free and uncapped forever: finding and merging duplicates, mass delete, the contact checkup, tags, and the recycle bin. No account, no cloud, no card. Kept Close Pro adds the relationship tools: smart lists, auto-tagging, the contacts map, keep-in-touch reminders, family and work connections, business-card scanning, and export / group outreach.
Does Kept Close need full access to my contacts?
Kept Close works with the access you grant in iOS. Limited Access is supported. The more of your book you share, the more cleanup and lists can do, but nothing is uploaded either way.
Is there an Android app or a web version?
iPhone only for now. Kept Close is a native iOS app for iPhone on iOS 17 or later. There is no Android app and no web version, and we don't sync your contacts to a cloud you could open elsewhere.
Does Kept Close read my calls or messages?
No. iOS doesn't allow that, and we wouldn't if it did. Kept Close never ranks frequent contacts from call logs or texts, never auto-saves unknown callers, and never pulls live data from LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, or X.
How do subscriptions and refunds work?
Kept Close Pro is purchased in the App Store: $8.99 / month, $59.99 / year, or $79.99 lifetime. Manage or cancel in Settings, Apple ID, Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard policy.
